TITLE:  Sales Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

The person in this key position will act as a liaison between customers, sales executives and developers in determining application design specifications, pricing and proposals. The Sales Engineers at QL2 Software are the interface between the field and our internal operations, and they play a critical role in the success of our company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and deliver convincing technical presentations that explain QL2 products and services to a variety of different audiences, ranging from developers to senior executives.
  • Help sales team generate new business, as well as ensure growth of existing accounts.
  • Assist sales executives at any stage during the sales process, which can include onsite client visits.
  • Demonstrate extensive technical knowledge of how QL2's products and services are better than other alternatives.
  • Confer with customers, developers and/or engineers in QL2's Professional Service Group to assess equipment needs, and to determine system requirements.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products and services, and to provide sales support.
  • Secure and renew orders and arrange delivery or training.
  • Develop, present, or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal (RFP) responses and industry-specific solutions.
  • Diagnose problems with installed software and/or applications.
  • Provide technical and non-technical support and services to clients or other staff members regarding the use, operation and maintenance of software/applications.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess excellent time and project management skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and enjoy working in a team environment.
  • Must be willing to accommodate work schedule according to customer needs (including differences in time zones).
  • Must possess problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills.
  • Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects and requests for assistance with little or no supervision.
  • Must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused, ever-changing environment.
  • Must be familiar with Internet protocols, Regular Expressions, HTML and Javascript.
  • Must have relevant experience with SQL and relational database concepts.
  • 2 - 4 years experience working in a collaborative effort with a team of developers, and/or developing applications for customers independently.
  • 2+ years experience collaborating with a high-tech enterprise sales team.
  • Must possess a diploma or degree from a 4-year institution; technical background a plus.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience with programming languages such as VB.NET or Java.
  • Familiarity with unstructured data management/data mining applications on or off the web.
  • Familiarity with Business and Market Intelligence practices, principles and methodologies.
